My view of therapy is that it is similar to going to school. The difference being, that in therapy the only subject matter that a patient studies is themselves. The more an individual understands their behavior, the better they will do in life. My responsibility is to help patients identify what aspects of their behavior are working well and reinforce them, and identify what aspects of their behavior are not working well and help patients replace them with adaptive behavior.
I initiate therapy with a personalized approach which involves an active, collaborative manner.
Based on our collaboration, I will tailor the treatment approach to best address your needs and goals. I use short-term, goal-oriented strategies as well as longer-term, insight oriented approaches. Additionally, I often incorporate stress management techniques into treatment.
I prefer a cognitive-behavioral approach toward treatment, which serves as a guide for patients to extensively examine their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns, and explore how they interact with each other. Through this analysis, patients are able to identify necessary changes in order to improve the quality of their lives.
Consultation and treatment are offered exclusively via telehealth via a secure HIPPA compliant video platform.
